Please find below, information on various hunting and fishing trips and suggested gear to bring with you.  If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

 

FISHING:

• Rods, reels, tackle and net
• Bug spray, bug jacket, sun tan lotion
• worms, NO LIVE MINNOWS ALLOWED
• cooler for transport
• filet knife
• zip lock baggies
• personal floatation device ie. *life jackets and rain suit
• drinking water
• toiletries including towels and bedding
• fishing license – can purchase at Depanneur Mathews/Brousseau on right in Cayamant (cash/debit only).
• camera and spare batteries
• food and beverages

HUNTING:

• firearm import documents and registration
• hunting licence(s) – can purchase at Depanneur Mathews/Brousseau on right in Cayamant (cash/debit only)
• clothing for ALL weather conditions
• Bug spray, bug jacket, sun tan lotion if necessary
• hunting knife, gps, compass, flashlight, folding chair or padded seat
• extra batteries
• camera
• ammunition
• hunter orange vest and hat
• cheese cloth
• large cooler and ice packs
• survival and first aid kits
• drinking water

HUNTING:

• firearm import documents and registration (US non residents) or PAL (residents)
• hunting licence(s)
• clothing for ALL weather conditions
• hunting knife, gps, compass, flashlights, matches/lighters

• binoculars
• fishing gear
• personal floatation device *life jacket

• weather radio
• ammunition
• hunter orange vest
• cheese cloth, flagging tape and rope
• folding camp chair, stool or padded seats
• large cooler and ice packs

• drinking water
• toiletries and bedding including towels, pillows and toilet paper.

• paper towels, dishwashing supplies, garbage bags
(dishes, pots and pans are supplied)

For Remote moose camps:
• generator, power bar and gas/oil for electricity OR propane lanterns
• additional boats/canoes, motors and gas, paddles, tool kits
(minimum of 1 boat is provided per camp)
• off road vehicles , helmets and gas
• propane tank for bbq if desired

The camps where you will be staying will be equipped with a generator for electricity, wood stove for heat and propane stoves for cooking. Pots and pans are provided as is bottled water for cooking and cleaning dishes.

You will want to bring:
• camp clothes and footwear
• sleeping bag and pillow
• food, snacks and drinks
• toiletries and towels
• hunting clothing incl. Facemask and gloves for all weather conditions
• backpack for extra clothes and drinks/snacks
• folding chair
• cooler to take turkey home
• shotgun (recommend turkey choke) and ammunition (recommend #5 or #6 in 3″)
• gun sock for early morning set up
• camera
• Thermacell or bug spray

You will be notified as to which camp you go to the night prior to your hunt.

Option #1 – Bear Island, owned by Gordon McLellan and located at 619 Tennyson Rd. RR6 Perth, Ont. K7H 3C8.

Option #2 – Montague camp, McKibbon Rd. next to 1780 Burchill Rd. Merrickville, Ont.
Go south on Burchill Rd. From Roger Stevens Dr. (across from Fletcher), at 90 degree corner to the right, turn left on McKibbon Rd. (next to 1780) and go through green gate on right, keeping right to the camp.

Please arrive at camp with your current small game license and turkey license. Canadian Tire stores are likely the easiest place to buy your licenses as there are several in the area. NOTE: if coming from out of Province, you will be required to produce a hunting license from your home jurisdiction.

Finally, please have cash to pay for the balance due for your trip. Receipts will be issued upon request.
